Edward van de Vendel

Edward van de Vendel writes books for children and young adults. He writes novels, poetry, and picturebooks, which are published at Querido’s Publishing House (Holland) and De Eenhoorn (Belgium). His books were awarded with the Golden Kiss (best book for teenagers, 3x), Silver Slate (best books for children, 7x), Woutertje Pieterse Prijs (critic’s choice), and he got a nomination for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award two years in a row now. His books are sold in more than twelve countries. Before he became a fulltime writer in 2001, he was a teacher in elementary schools.

His recent books for children and youths are: AND THEN SAM CAME (age recommendation 9+), THE DOVE THAT COULDN’T DIVE (age recommendation 5+), SOPHIE AND THE PENGUINS (age recommendation 7+), THE BOY WHO FOUND HAPPINESS (age recommendation 14+).
