BIND’s objective is to tell striking, unique stories that move and inspire, that open eyes and take root. BIND develops and produces genuine, provocative films about real people and the quest for their identity. Films that have proven to be a powerful way to portray contemporary topics in an intriguing or surprising manner. Our aim is to create an effective connection between engaged filmmakers and their audience.

Maaike Neve is a producer. She has been working at BIND since 2014. She graduated in Media and Culture at the UvA (University of Amsterdam) with a thesis on Dutch family films and conducted extensive research on children and representation within the film medium. Her focus at BIND is therefore on our children’s and family films. Furthermore, she is always on the lookout for new and young filmmakers.

She has participated in a range of talent and development programs, including LIM as a script development trainee, Rotterdam Lab, the ACE Training Days, and the ProducersLINK program of Young Horizons and Cinekid. In 2024 she was selected for Berlinale Talents and she will join EAVE producers workshop in 2026.

Maaike’s greatest passion besides film is cooking and food: the curiosity about new ingredients and recipes, the hospitality that comes with it, how food brings people together… The key word in all of this, just as in the films she works on, is connection. One day she wants to transform this love for cooking and food into a cinematic ode.
