Christine Linke
Dr. Christine Linke is a researcher and lecturer at the Institute for Media Research at the University of Rostock, Germany. Her research interests include communication and media in everyday life, in social relationships and in the context of chronicle illness. Her major focus in the last years has been on diversity and gender representation of audio-visual and social media. Together with Prof. Dr. Elizabeth Prommer she is the author of AUDIOVISUAL DIVERSITY? A representative study of German media that has shown an unequal representation of gender in ilm, television and especially in children’s television. They just published the book FADED OUT. WOMEN IN GERMAN FILM AND TELEVISION, including a chapter on children’s television and body representation in animated programmes. „Researching diversity and media is an important call to me. However, in order to understand and actively take part in making media and its industry more diverse, it is a privilege and inspiration to connect and exchange with creators and producers.“
