Nora Lakos

Nóra Lakos is a Budapest-based writer, director, and producer known for her award-winning films for young audiences. Her debut feature, Cream (2020), was a successful comedy that won numerous international awards and was later acquired by HBO and Netflix. Her second feature, I Accidentally Wrote a Book (2025), became the most-watched live-action family film in Hungary and has won over 30 international awards, including Best Film at Tallinn Black Nights’ Just Film competition. The film has also been nominated for the European Film Academy’s Young Audience Award 2026. Earlier in her career, Lakos directed acclaimed short films such as Edina, which screened and won awards at festivals including Sarajevo. She is a board member of the European Children’s Film Association (ECFA) and the founder of Cinemira, Hungary’s first international children’s and youth film festival, established in 2018 and named after her daughter, Míra.
