
Sergio García de Leániz
Sergio García de Leániz is Project Manager at Eurimages since 2012. He has managed over 150 projects, which include films such as Sentimental Value, by Joachim Trier, Romería, by Carla Simón, Franz, by Agnieszka Holland, Triangle of Sadness, by Ruben Östlund, Eagles of the Republic, by Tarik Saleh and Another Round, by Thomas Vinterberg.
In addition, he also manages the Eurimages Promotion Programme, he helped create and launch the Eurimages New Lab Awards and managed the Readers Programme.
Prior to that, he worked as an Executive Producer at Televisión Española, where he produced the TV-series Stamos Okupa2 featuring Carmen Maura and participated in the development of series such as Isabel, Victor Ros, Los Misterios de Laura, Gran Reserva, etc.
Garcia de Leaniz worked in film companies in Spain and the US such as Star Line, Pentagrama Films and KWA. His producing credits include Vicente Aranda´s Carmen, Caminantes, by Fernando León de Aranoa and Ouka Leele´s Regard, Goya Award Nominee. In addition, he has directed the feature documentary Weapons of Mass Addiction, awarded in festivals such as Warsaw, Havana and Seminci.
A Fulbright fellow with an M.F.A. in Screenwriting from Chapman University and EAVE Graduate, he holds a business degree and earned an Audiovisual M.B.A. from the Instituto de Empresa and studied at the ECAM, Madrid Film School.
He is a member of the Spanish Film Academy and a regular speaker and participant at film institutions (ACE, EAVE, ECAM, Atelier Ludwigsburg) and film committees (ICAA Spain, Grand Est France, Ukraine Institute).
