
Markus Dietrich
Markus Dietrich is a German director and screenwriter. He studied Media Design at the Bauhaus University Weimar. He has been working as a freelance director and writer for cinema and television since 2003. Markus is a member of the German Screenwriters’ Association (DDV) and has taught directing at the Bauhaus University Weimar. He was a board member and spokesperson of the German Children’s Film Association for several years. Markus has directed numerous successful feature films and TV productions, including Invisible Sue, Sputnik, Willi and the Wonder Toad, The Mucklas and How They Came to Pettersson and Findus, and Ponyheart. He also directed over 30 episodes of the children’s series Schloss Einstein. His work has been screened internationally and received multiple awards and nominations at festivals worldwide. Born in Strausberg in 1979, Markus lives in Weimar with his wife and two children.
