Lidia Peralta García
Lidia Peralta García is professor and researcher at the Department of Journalism of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). She is involved in the EU funded research project FilmEd – a study about film literacy in Europe. She has been working for more than ten years for Tesis, a cultural and educational programme of the Andalusian Public Television. As a documentary filmmaker, she has been awarded with the Andalusian TV Journalistic Award 2013 for her documentary A HOUSE FOR BERNARDA ALBA. Lidia Peralta García has a PhD in Journalism at the Faculty of Sciences of Communication of Malaga (Spain).
What does your institution do?
FilmEd is an international European project, scientifically led by the UAB. This research analyses the use of films and other audio-visual contents in schools: obstacles and best practises. The study is being carried out in 33 countries. At the end of the research we will be drawing some recommendations for the European Commission.
What do you do in your institution?
I’m a member of the “Gabinete de Comunicacion y Educacion“ lead by Prof. José Manuel Peréz Tornero at the UAB and I’m in charge of some study cases. My research focuses on transcultural communication and interactive documentary.
