Philipp Budweg is producer and CEO of the German production company Lieblingsfilm GmbH relaunched 2008 from his first company schlicht und ergreifend. From 2013 – 2016 he successfully produced the triologies RUBY RED (2013), SAPHIR BLUE (2014) and EMERALD GREEN (2016) based on the novel by Kerstin Gier as well The PASTA DETECTIVES I-III based on the novels by Andreas Steinhöfel. After graduating from the LMU Munich with an MA in German Studies and Art History, he founded the film production company schlicht und ergreifend together with Johannes Schmid. He received the VGH stipend for young producers and won the VGH-Award for Best New Producer at the Bavarian Film Awards in 2004 for AUS DER TIEFE DES RAUMES (From the Deep of the Romm). After producing the short films FLÜGELFISCH (Fish with Wings) and MERLE, Budweg cooperated with Kinderfilm GmbH on Johannes Schmid's debut feature film BLÖDE MÜTZE! (Stupid Cap) in 2006. Further, he also produced the graduation films DIE KURVE (The Curve, 2002), GEFÜHLTE TEMPERATUR (Felt Temperture, 2004), VIER FENSTER (Four Windows, 2005), HINTER DÜNEN (Behind Dunes, 2008) and TOTEM (2009) in co-operation with the HFF Munich. It now has the producers Robert Marciniak, Thomas Blieninger and Philipp Budweg as well as the authors/directors Johannes Schmid (BLÖDE MÜTZE, WINTER DAUGHTER) and Marcus H. Rosenmüller (GRAVE DECISIONS) on board.
Philipp Budweg became a member of the German and the European Film Academies in 2012.
